Probability of earthquakes in Central Russia appreciated by the Deputy Director for Engineering Seismology and Seismic Hazard Assessment of the Institute of Physics of the Earth RAS Ruben Tatevosyan. In conversation with “Lentoy.ru” he said that tremors in this area will not begin soon.
The expert noted that the situation will depend on the balance of the rate of formation and destruction of the earth’s crust. He clarified that it was impossible to predict the risk of such natural phenomena in the center of Russia, but suggested that earthquakes would begin here no sooner than in millions of years.
