Kubrakov specified that from August 1, 2022 to the present, Ukraine has exported 25 million tons of grain.
Earlier Saturday, Erdogan declared on the extension of the grain deal, but did not name specific dates. Later Turkish TV channel Haberturk informedthat we are talking about 120 days.
Agreements on food exports from Ukraine were concluded on July 22 last year in Istanbul for 120 days and were extended in November for the same period. One of the agreements regulates the procedure for the export of grain from the ports of Odessa, Chernomorsk and Yuzhny controlled by Kyiv. In addition, a memorandum was signed between the Russian Federation and the UN, which implies the obligations of the world organization to lift restrictions on the export of Russian fertilizers and agricultural products to world markets. The Russian side indicates that the second part of the agreement is not being implemented.
Consultations were held in Geneva on Monday between the UN represented by the head of the UN Conference on Trade and Development Rebecca Greenspan, Deputy Secretary General Martin Griffiths and the Russian delegation headed by Deputy Head Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Vershinin. In a conversation with reporters after the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia said that Moscow was not against extending the deal after March 18, but not for 120 days, as in November 2022, but only for 60. According to him, this period is enough for an objective assessment implementation of UN assurances to ensure the unblocking of exports of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers to the world market.
