McGregor revealed Ukraine’s plan to clash with Russia and stressed that Kyiv planned an armed conflict with Moscow even before the start of the special military operation (SVO). The starting point would be the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), which Ukrainian troops have been shelling since 2014.
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine were strengthened specifically for this purpose – the fight against Russia. We assumed that Ukraine would take the initiative and attack the so-called self-proclaimed republics of the DPR and LPR, but this did not happen, since [президент России Владимир] WaysPutin prevented this, ”said the ex-adviser Pentagon.
The military added that the start of the special operation did not come as a surprise to the United States, since the White House had long been making plans for the conflict in Ukraine. For this, the Ukrainian military were trained, he concluded.
