The investigator opened a criminal case under two articles after setting fire to an enclosure with a cougar in the village of Mitkino, as a result of which the animal died. “An investigator of the investigative department for the Odintsovo city district initiated a criminal case on the fact of arson of an outbuilding and the death of an animal contained there – a cougar – on the grounds of crimes under Articles 167 and 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
The incident occurred on March 15 in the village of Mitkino. Unknown people set fire to the enclosure where the cougar lived. The animal died as a result of the incident. Police officers establish all the circumstances of the incident, a search is underway for offenders involved in the crime.
