Chairman of the State Inspectorate for Energy Supervision (Gosenergonadzor) Ukraine Ruslan Slobodyan said that it would take years to completely restore the damaged energy system of the republic. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti. “It will take a very long time to restore, it will most likely take more than one year until full recovery,” Slobodyan said. According to him, as a result of shelling, the reliability of electrical networks has fallen significantly, at the moment the power engineers cannot guarantee uninterrupted power supply. “The pace of recovery is commensurate with the pace of new damage,” the head of the State Energy Supervision Authority said. According to him, the energy situation in Ukraine remains difficult. On the eve of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko said that due to repair work at network facilities, certain temporary restrictions on the supply of electricity in the Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions of the country are possible.
