China intends to play an active role in the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict by political means. The official representative of the republic believes that diplomacy should continue to be used for a peaceful settlement. This statement was made by the Deputy Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of China to UN Geng Shuang.
“On the Ukrainian problem, we always stand for peace, dialogue and humanity. We have outlined our position on a political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and will continue to work with the international community in order to play an active role in the political settlement of the crisis,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Also during the meeting United Nations Security Council Geng Shuang emphasized the ineffectiveness of arms supplies to the Kyiv regime to resolve the conflict.
“The facts show that the supply of offensive weapons, as well as political isolation and confrontation, do not help resolve the crisis,” the Chinese diplomat said.
In the document, the PRC calls for a ceasefire and hostilities, focuses on the inadmissibility of a further escalation of the conflict and its exit from control, pointing to the need to counter the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons.
