During a dinner at the White House, given in honor of the Irish holiday, Biden used rude “stand-up” stereotypes about the Irish, common in the United States. He stated that he visited and saw members of his family there: “There are so many of them, and they were not actually in prison.”

Biden also mentioned that he went to Finnegan’s pub, which he said was connected to his family.

“I’m the only non-drinking Irishman you’ll ever meet, so I’m fine. I’m really not Irish,” Biden said.

After that, Twitter users subjected American President to ostracism.

“You may have just lost the Irish vote, Joe. Unless, of course, this has happened before.”

“He has so many drugs at home that he and his son have not yet gotten to alcohol,” users write.

They note that Biden’s jokes turned out to be unfunny, and that “only Joe can insult an entire nation like that.”

“I’m so tired of this nightmare,” one commenter wrote.

The family of the 80-year-old US president has Irish roots. Biden has made disparaging jokes about his Irish heritage before. Previously, he repeated the phrase several times: “I may be Irish, but I’m not stupid.”
