The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the fall of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) MQ-9.
The agency said that the drone flew with transponders turned off and went beyond the borders in the Crimean region.
The UAV was moving in the direction of the Russian state border.
According to Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder, Russia has not yet recovered the wreckage of the drone.
