The Civil Guard has realized this Friday of the operation against drug trafficking developed last Tuesday, March 14, in the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche and that it has settled with the arrest of 11 people for the alleged commission of crimes against public health, belonging to a criminal organization, money laundering, illegal possession of weapons, false documents, identity theft, threats and against traffic safety. Another person belonging to the organization was also arrested last February, making a total of twelve detainees.
With the so-called Operation ARAFE, it has been possible to break up a criminal organization dedicated to the acquisition, transport, adulteration and distribution of narcotic substances, mostly cocaine, heroin and amphetamines, based in the Sierra de Huelva, and with a nerve center in the town of Jabugo.
During the development of the investigations, the agents were able to verify how the drug was transported by several members of the organization to the town of Jabugo, to later proceed to cut and adulterate them, marketing it in eight points of sale distributed throughout the towns of Jabugo, Galaroza, Aracena and Higuera de la Sierrawhich had raised a great social alarm due to the constant transfer of buyers and the quantities of drugs that were supplied.
Likewise, two significant quantities of narcotic substances related to this organization have been seized in January and February, seizing 53.7 grams of various types of drugs, 425 grams of cocaine and 85 grams of heroin, proceeding to the arrest of one of the members. more assets of the criminal organization.
For all these reasons, on March 14, authorized by the Investigating Court number 2 of Aracena, a total of thirteen entries and searches were carried out in the towns of Aracena, Jabugo, Galaroza, Higuera de la Sierra and Huelva capital, 1,427 grams of high purity cocaine, 33 grams of heroin, 917 grams of amphetamines, 1,036 grams of marijuana, 226 grams of hashish; tools for weighing, preparing and adulterating narcotic substances, 30,462 euros, three apparently detonating and/or modified short weapons, two long weapons (rifles) and one long weapon without numbering, nine bladed weapons, four vehicles, one motorcycle, two special vehicles and numerous telecommunications material.
The ongoing investigation is still open. not ruling out future arrests related to this criminal organization.
The detainees and the proceedings have been handed over to the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 2 of Aracena, leaving the drug and the seized effects at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
The Aracena Judicial Police Team has intervened in the Operation together with components of the Organic Unit of the Huelva Judicial Police, 1st Company of Cortegana (Huelva), GAR, GRS, USECIC of Huelva, Cynological Service of Huelva and Algeciras, Air Service (Southern Air Sector), GEAS of Algeciras and Mountain Service of Granada.
