He Solidarity Book Marketorganized by the NGO Ayre Solidario for raise funds for international cooperation projectsreturns this Saturday, March 18, to the Plaza de las Monjas in the capital. At the gates of the arrival of spring, it will be the second Market of this year, recovering the motivation and joy of meeting with the people who always come to this solidarity event after the pandemic break,
It will be from 12:00 noon, where people who usually collaborate with the Market and the general public will be able to find thousands of books at a single price -1 book, 3 euros; 2 books, 5 euros-, in addition to the usual DVS, CD and vinyl sections. In addition, the new T-shirts designed with the message, which summarizes the essence of our solidarity projects: ‘Read and change the world’, will be put on sale.
Everything obtained from the sale is used to finance the projects that Solidarity Air supports in the North of Morocco. On the one hand, the educational center for minors in Khemis Anjra (Tetouan), a project in which Ayre Solidario has been working for two years, and through which resident children have the possibility of carving out a future off the streets. And on the other, the social transformation project in Mártil (Tetouan), education for development in the field of digital training for job training for young people.
Both projects are a reality thanks to all the people who buy solidarity books and make donations. The NGO also collaborates with other humanitarian projects. The Market will remain open throughout the day on Saturday, with uninterrupted hours until nightfall. We hope to repeat the great reception and volume of sales of the last editions of the Solidarity Market, in which more than a thousand books of all genres and themes offered were sold. In the event on Saturday, the books will once again be ordered by category, which makes it easier for the public to find.
To launch the Solidarity Market, Ayre Solidario collects donations of used books and DVDs, both from individuals and institutions, which will go on sale on Saturday at very cheap prices. The NGOs thank all of them for their contributions.
Online bookstore and catalog
The return of the Market joins the Solidarity Bookstore of the NGO in Holea -in the interior gallery of Carrefour-, thanks to the collaboration of the shopping center with the objectives of this initiative: that the sale of books, films and music contributes to other disadvantaged people can aspire to a future with better opportunities. During the pandemic, there have been several premises that Holea has given us free of charge, a fundamental support so that our project can continue to reach the general public that visits its facilities daily.
Over the last two years, Ayre Solidario has also created an online catalog of its collections, which has more than 6,000 books, which can be purchased at the click of a button. Access to the catalog is https://www.librarything.es/profile/Ayresolidario. The catalog is available through the QR code shared on social networks and the Ayre Solidario blog.
