The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: During March 18, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 83 enemy attacks in 5 directions.
The Russian Federation continues to wage a war of conquest. The main efforts of the enemy are focused on attempts to completely capture the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. To achieve its goals, it continues offensive operations in the Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky, Maryinsky and Miners directions. Over the past day, our defenders repulsed 83 attacks on this sector of the front. Bakhmut remains the epicenter of hostilities.
Over the past day, the Russian Federation continued to use terror tactics against the civilian population of Ukraine. By shelling settlements and critical infrastructure facilities, the enemy completely ignores the laws and customs of war.
Over the past 24 hours, the enemy launched 11 missile strikes, 4 of them on civilian infrastructure in the city of Zaporozhye. Also, 16 air strikes and 99 shelling from multiple rocket launchers by the occupiers were recorded.
On Volynsky, Polessky, Seversky and Slobozhansky directions the operating environment remains constant. During the day, the enemy shelled the areas of the settlements of Aleksandrovka and Klyusa of the Chernihiv region; Kharkivka, Starikovo, Volfin – Sumy and Krasnaya Zarya, Veterinary, Strelka, Staritsa, Volchansk and Bolshoy Burluk in the Kharkiv region.
On the Kupyansky and Limansky directions the enemy continues to attempt to break through the defenses of our troops. The enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of the settlements of Kremennaya, Dibrova, Verkhnekamennoye and Spornoye and carried out artillery shelling of the areas of the settlements of Putnikovo, Krasnoe Pervoe, Dvurechnaya, Gryanikovka, Kupyansk, Krokhmalnoe and Berestovo of the Kharkov region, Novoselovskoe, Novoselovskoe of the Luhansk region, as well as Spirnoe and Fedorovka, Donetsk region.
On the Bakhmut direction units of the Defense Forces repelled numerous enemy attacks in the northern part of the city of Bakhmut, as well as in the areas of the settlements of Orekhovo-Vasilovka, Grigorievka and Bogdanovka. Vasyukovka, Zheleznyanskoye, Orekhovo-Vasilovka, Grigorovka, Bogdanovka, Bakhmut, Ivanovskoye, Chasov Yar, Kurdyumovka, Ozaryanovka and Northern Donetsk region were subjected to enemy shelling.
On Avdeevsky, Maryinsky and Shakhtyorsky directions the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the areas of the settlements of Krasnogorovka, Kamenka, Avdeevka, Vodyanoye, Pervomayskoye, as well as Marinka, which the invaders attacked 15 times. In particular, Kamenka, Lastochkino, Avdeevka, Tonechko, Georgievka, Nevelskoe, Maryinka, Vuhledar and Bolshaya Novoselka of the Donetsk region were subjected to enemy shelling.
In Zaporozhye and Kherson directions the enemy is on the defensive. In particular, Olhivske, Krasnoe, Gulyaipole, Malaya Tokmachka, Novodanilivka, Novoandreevka and Kamenskoye of the Zaporozhye region were subjected to shelling. The city of Kherson and Antonovka were shelled again.
Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine has inflicted 10 strikes on the areas of concentration of the occupiers. The Shahed-136 UAV was shot down. Our missilemen and artillerymen hit 7 enemy personnel and military equipment concentration areas.
