The Town Hall of San Silvestre de Guzman launched a new edition ofl San Silvestre de Guzmán International Film Festival ‘La Sansilvestrale’, which will be held in August 2023. The period for submitting papers to its official sections is now open. In 2023 the contest will celebrate its 4th edition, and as in the past, it will have its official section for short film competition. June 2 will be the deadline for the submission of fiction and animation short films. As one of the novelties of this edition, the works presented, national and international, must have a maximum duration of 20 minutes and have finished their production after January 1, 2019.
Participants in the short film section will be eligible for the Best Short Film award, endowed with €2,200 and the Golden Mill, with an increase in the amount compared to the previous year. The best actress, the best actor, the best script and the audience award will also be awarded, for which ‘La Sansilvestrale’ will award its statuette, which already have, among others, Guillermo de Oliveira, Luisa Gavasa, Jonnathan D. Mellor, Marcos Gualda or Álvaro Carmona.
The organization expects a great participation in this fourth edition of the short film contest of the festivalwhich last year featured more than 100 productions, 12 of which were selected by the jury to be screened in front of the more than a thousand people who attended.
The commitment of the San Silvestre de Guzmán City Council to the festival is, in the words of its mayor, José Alberto Macarro, “determined and inalienable, since we have managed, in a short time, to turn this event into one of the most outstanding at a national level in the world of short films. Likewise, the mayor has pointed out “the effort to continue promoting the growth of this festival, claiming the great potential of the short film as quality cinema”.
