Law enforcement agencies are investigating after Verka Serdyuchka’s song (Ukrainian singer Andriy Danilko) “The party” was played in one of the karaoke clubs in Krasnodar, in the chorus of which there is a line from the Ukrainian anthem. Mayor of Krasnodar Evgeny Naumov “instructed to carry out work” with city institutions. About this May 20 informs press service of the city administration.
“Yevgeny Naumov instructed to work with city karaoke clubs and generally exclude the possibility of such incidents,” the statement says.
The incident happened at the La Major karaoke club. Some of the guests sang Serduchka’s song, while others filmed it and posted it online, where the video went viral. The administration of the club explained that they basically do not include songs in Ukrainian and do not allow guests to sing them. But this time, the sound engineer “did not have time to orient himself, since all the verses are sung in Russian and they are neutral in the text.” As soon as the Ukrainian words “with an unacceptable meaning” sounded, the recording was immediately stopped, the manager claims.
“Our sound engineer works part-time at weddings, where this song has been constantly sung for 20 years, so he turned it on automatically. Additional explanatory work was carried out with the staff in order to prevent this from happening in the future,” she concluded.
This is not the first incident with the song “Party” in recent times. In October 2022, the head of the culture department of the Kushnarenkovo district of Bashkiria, Alexander Desyatkin, and the director of the regional House of Culture, Olesya Vildanova, were reprimanded because the song was played on the central square of the village of Kushnarenkovo during the fair, reminds “Kommersant”.
