He Almonte Town Hall is going to invest an amount of more than 200,000 euros for the construction of a new wooden pedestrian walkway in the Matalascañas Dune Park. Specifically, 250 new linear meters will be placed and those most deteriorated areas will be repaired in the rest of the walkway that runs through this enclave and whose length is close to one kilometer.
This is an action contemplated in the DUSI Almonte 2020 Strategy, 80% co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund within the framework of the Plurirregional Operational Program of Spain 2014-2020, and which has a total investment of six million euros and which has major projects such as the comprehensive rehabilitation of El Chaparral Park in Almonte or the Paseo Marismeño in the village of El Rocío.
The Councilor for Town Planning, José Miguel Espina, visited this morning in the company of the municipal architect, Natividad López, the works that are being carried out in the Dunar de Matalascañas Park and whose completion is scheduled for Easter Week.
An emblematic enclave in Matalascañas
Espina has highlighted this action that “fulfills another commitment of this government team that will also come true” and has underlined the City Council’s commitment to enhancing an emblematic enclave such as Matalascañas. “With this action we put at the service of our neighbors and visitors the enjoyment of a unique space of high environmental and ecological value, which constitutes by itself an important tourist attraction”, he stressed.
For her part, the municipal architect has emphasized the importance of this action, as well as the difficulties that it entails due to the orography of the land and its high environmental value.
