The gastronomy, leisure and sports complex called MonaJuana, located in the southern part of the Paseo de la Ría, next to the recreation of the centenary Fuente de las Naciones, has presented its facilities and the entity’s Sports Club this Friday. This space will promote port-city interaction and will contribute to revitalizing Paseo de la Ría and Avenida Francisco Montenegro, since it will promote sports and cultural activities, which will expand the leisure and recreation offer promoted by the Port of Huelva in this place, equipped with a pedestrian path and a bike lane, as well as recreational and sports areas.
During the event, the president of the Port of Huelva, Pilar Miranda, stated that “we are an open and dynamic port, which promotes the socioeconomic development of the city. For this reason, we want to continue supporting projects and initiatives that generate value for Huelva, such as the MonaJuana complex, since it will provide an attractive gastronomic, sports, cultural and leisure offer, as well as constituting a tourist attraction as it is located in a privileged enclave. next to the estuary, where splendid sunsets can be seen”.
During her speech, Pilar Miranda announced that in order to facilitate the practice of nautical activities next to this complex, the port of huelva The rehabilitation of the works on the jetty ramp located in its immediate vicinity will begin shortly, in addition to the upper lateral access areas. Likewise, grass will be provided and the perimeter area will be repopulated with plants equal to the existing ones.
For his part, the manager of Mona Juana SL, Ernesto Sánchez, has indicated that “we are finalizing the final details so that everything is perfect for the imminent opening of the restaurant (last week of March). Today we present another of the pillars of the project; the MonaJuana sports school, where water sports such as paddle surfing, kayaking or wingfoil will be developed”. Likewise, the manager of MonaJuana has assured that this space will offer other services such as parking for boards, supervised access to water activities and a permanent sports monitor.
The director of the Monajuana Sports Club, Sergio Rodríguez, as well as several renowned athletes such as Augusto García, professional Paddel Surf athlete and sports sponsor of MonaJuana, as well as Javier López Martín, elite athlete, were also present at the presentation ceremony. , WingFoil World Champion.
This space will house a paddle surf club and will offer the possibility of practicing water sports activities in kayaks and wingfoils, as well as yoga, mindfulness and personal training.
This restaurant and leisure place aims to be a multifunctional complex, since it will combine different concepts and services around an area called urban beach club to enjoy gastronomy in the restaurant area and/or on the beach, where they have a food truck; and will house a sports club area, to offer the practice of different sports such as canoeing, paddle surfing or yoga, among others.
This complex intends to open its doors from 12:00 to 24:00 in winter time, from Wednesday to Sunday.
