The Arbitration Court of the capital satisfied the application of Russian Railways, which demanded to recover from Siemens Mobility GmbH a penalty in the amount of 6.078 million rubles for each day of non-execution of the court decision. On May 22, reports TASS.
In 2019, Russian Railways signed a contract with Siemens and the Sinara Group for the purchase of 13 high-speed Sapsan vehicles for €513.5 million. They were supposed to be delivered from September 2022 to July 2023.
Last year, Siemens left the Russian market, and the company did not fulfill the contract due to sanctions. Later, the court recognized the avoidance of performance of contractual obligations as illegal and obliged the firm bring them to fruition.
