The Ministry of Industry and Trade will supplement the list of parallel imports with contact lenses from American manufacturers within two weeks. Among them were three companies headquartered in the US: Alcon Laboratories, Bausch & Lomb, Johnson & Johnson. On May 26, reports TASS.
It was decided to include lenses in the list of parallel imports before their shortage appeared on the Russian market. If the import of contact lenses into Russia is carried out in full, the products will be excluded from the list, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported.
The US Department of Industry and Trade on May 19 introduced a new scroll products that will be subject to restrictions – from licensing to a complete ban. The list also includes contact lenses that dominate the Russian market by the American company Johnson & Johnson, which owns the brands Acuvue Oasys and Acuvue True Eyes.
Back in April 2022 Fontanka wrote that St. Petersburg faced a shortage of contact lenses. Back then, Johnson&Johnson supplied limited products, while Alcon and Bausch&Lomb fulfilled orders by only 40%.
