On April 13, a presentation and a working meeting of the Volunteer Corps of the Russian Geographical Society took place at the Headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society in Moscow. It was attended by members of a friendly team, which will implement large-scale projects with the support of the Society.
Activists of the Volunteer Corps of the Russian Geographical Society are enterprising and energetic people who provide assistance in organizing the Festivals of the Russian Geographical Society, “Geographical Dictation”, “Night of Geography” and other events. They are engaged in the conservation of flora and fauna, help employees of specially protected natural areas in the improvement of national parks and reserves, participate in expeditions and environmental education camps of the Russian Geographical Society, work with museum archives, conduct excursions, and teach lessons within the framework of the Geography for Children project. Becoming a volunteer of the Russian Geographical Society is a great opportunity to reveal yourself, gain unique experience and share it with other people.
Within meetings An interesting excursion around the Headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society and a presentation of the Society’s events in Moscow were organized for volunteers, in which they can take part. The training “Effective assistance at events” was also held. In the future, it is planned to hold meetings and classes for leaders and volunteers of the Moscow events of the Russian Geographical Society on a regular basis.
