The Russian Geographical Society begins accepting applications for participation in the scientific and educational program for young professionals in the territory of the Republic of Serbia. From August 13 to August 20, the winners of the competition will have excursions and field trips, as well as meetings with representatives of the Russian Geographical Society and leading Serbian experts in the field of geography and related sciences.

Applications are accepted until June 11th. Anyone between the ages of 18 and 35 (inclusive) can become a participant in the competition. Knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of Serbian will be an advantage.

The internship program includes studying the physical and geographical features of the Kopaonik mountain range, visiting Russian cultural heritage sites and viewing historical monuments, as well as participating in the opening of an exhibition of works by the winners of the RGS photo contest “The Most Beautiful Country” in the city of Golubac.

Kopaonik is one of the largest mountain ranges in Serbia, located in the Ras and Rasinsky districts of the country. The length of the ridge, composed of crystalline schists, granites and serpentenites, reaches 83 km, width – 63 km. The total area is about 2700 km2, the highest point is Pancic peak (2017 m). In 1981, a national park of the same name was created in the central part of the massif.

The organizers cover the costs associated with the transfer from Moscow to Belgrade and back, meals and accommodation, provide an educational and cultural program. Travel from the place of residence to Moscow and back must be paid by yourself.
