In Novorossiysk, the results of the 2nd championship on high-speed assembly of Russian spils-cards were summed up. About 600 people took part in the tournament, organized by the local branch of the Russian Geographical Society and the city administration. It is noteworthy that within the framework of the event, for the first time, an official competition was held in compiling a map of the Krasnodar Territory from separate fragments.
The large-scale tournament was held in seven stages from March 25 to April 10. It was attended by schoolchildren, members of the Youth Army, students, teachers, military personnel, employees of state and municipal structures, representatives of national societies, family teams, people with hearing impairments and wheelchair users. The venues for the competition were provided by the Novorossiysk Social and Pedagogical College, the Novorossiysk Institute of the Moscow Humanitarian and Economic University, the Central City Library, gymnasium No. 6, and the legendary cruiser Mikhail Kutuzov. The awarding ceremony for the championship winners took place on April 17 at the Maritime Cultural Center of Novorossiysk.
– Geographical knowledge is the foundation on which one of the main tasks for the formation of Russian identity among citizens as the main condition for strengthening Russian statehood lies, to a large extent, – noted the chairman of the Novorossiysk local branch of the Russian Geographical Society Evgenia Kambarova.
The participating teams set all-Russian records for the fastest assembly of spils-cards in the Krasnodar Territory. In the individual standings, one of the local schoolgirls coped with a difficult task in just 2 minutes and 15 seconds. In the team competition, the Novorossiysk students took 1 minute 18 seconds to complete the task.
The main goals of the II city championship of Novorossiysk in high-speed assembly of spils-cards were the popularization of geographical knowledge, the education of patriotism, the formation of national and civic consciousness, as well as the preservation and strengthening of traditional Russian spiritual and moral values.
