The finalists of the IX photo contest “The Most Beautiful Country”, which is held annually by the Russian Geographical Society, were determined by an expert commission. 13 professional photographers and photo editors selected 100 works in the main 10 nominations, as well as 20 works in the competition “The most beautiful country through the eyes of children” (four nominations).
The largest Russian photo contest wildlife always attracts spectacular and emotional worksthat leave no one indifferent. And now everyone can be inspired by the work of the finalists and support their favorite works during online voting. It runs from May 15 to May 28. Based on the results, the winner of the audience award will be determined, who will receive 100 thousand rubles.
In 2023, 8755 people took part in the competition, which is 50% more than in 2022. In total, more than 60 thousand entries were received, which exceeds last year’s figure by almost a third. Most of the pictures were traditionally submitted to the “Landscape” category and to the newly introduced “Shot on a Smartphone” category – each with 20,000 photos.

The announcement of the names of the winners and the awarding will take place in October 2023. The winners in the main nominations will receive 250,000 rubles each. The works of all finalists will be published in a colorful photo album and will take part in exhibitions around the world.
