Sergey Ustyugov won the classic sprint at the Russian Cross-country Ski Championship in Tyumen. The 30-year-old athlete covered the distance of 1.7 km in 4 minutes and 4.24 seconds.

The second came Alexander Terentiev, who lost 3.47 seconds to Ustyugov. The third place was taken by Alexander Bolshunov (+4.56). About this on Saturday, March 18, writes newspaper “Soviet sport”.

Ustyugov and Bolshunov are the champions of the Beijing Olympic Games. Another Olympic winner, Alexei Chervotkin, finished fourth in the classical sprint.

The Russian cross-country skiing championship takes place in Tyumen from 18 to 26 March. The arena “Pearl of Siberia” will host 12 races – individual sprint classic, skiathlon, skating, skating team sprint, as well as large relay races and mass starts for 30 and 50 km classic.
