Voronezh “Fakel” beat “Sochi” in the match of the 20th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL). The meeting was held on Saturday, March 18, in Voronezh.
The game ended with the score 3:0. On the 34th minute, the first goal against the opponent’s goal from the penalty spot was scored by Georgy Gongadze, writes RIA Novosti – Sport. Also Ruslan Magal (73) and Matvey Ivakhnov (79) scored at Fakel.
Sochi last minutes of the game spent in the minority. Georgy Melkadze received two yellow cards in just a minute and was sent off.
“Sochi” suffered the second defeat in a row. Earlier, the team lost in the 19th round of the RPL to Orenburg. The game ended with the score 0:4. “Torch” won the second victory of the season and broke a ten-match losing streak.
The Voronezh club with 17 points is in 14th place in the RPL standings. Sochi scored 28 points. The team is in ninth position.
