Nebenzya named conditions for extending the “grain deal” in 60 days The Russian Federation will consider extending the “grain deal” in 60 days only if there is tangible progress in the implementation of the Russian part of the agreement. This is stated in a letter from the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, to UN Deputy Secretary General Martin Griffiths and UNCTAD Secretary General Rebecca Greenspan. The message notes that in order to further extend the food deal, the following problems must be resolved: connecting the Russian Agricultural Bank to the SWIFT system, resuming supplies of agricultural equipment to the Russian Federation, lifting restrictions on insurance and access to ports for Russian cargo ships. The “grain deal” was extended for only 60 days.
