The number of registered unemployed in the Russian Federation is 547 thousand people, said the secretariat of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova. This is 17 thousand less than at the beginning of 2023.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the number of vacancies on the Job of Russia portal is 1.6 million. Golikova also reported a decrease in the number of employees who are idle.
“Compared to the beginning of the year, their number has almost halved and now stands at 43,000 people,” she stressed. Golikova’s words on Friday, March 17, leads RIA News.
In 2022, 3.2 million citizens applied to the Russian employment service for various services. At the end of last year number of registered unemployed amounted to 564 thousand people in the Russian Federation, which is almost 30% lower than the same indicator a year earlier.
In March, the President of the Russian Federation noted that the unemployment rate in the country is at historical lows at 3.6%. Despite a slight decrease in the level of real wages, there is still an upward trend in Russia, he added.
