Russia extends “grain deal” for 60 days. This was reported to journalists by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov. His statement on Friday, March 17, quotes RIA News.

March 13 at the Russian Foreign Ministry after negotiations with UN representatives reportedthat Moscow does not object to the extension of the “grain deal” after the expiration of the second term on March 18, but only for 60 days. The ministry noted that the position of the Russian Federation will be determined depending on the real progress in the normalization of Russian agricultural exports, including bank payments, transport logistics, insurance, unfreezing of financial activities and the supply of ammonia through the Togliatti-Odessa pipeline.

March 14 at the Russian Foreign Ministry toldthat Moscow informed Turkey and Ukraine about the position on the “grain deal”. In the Kremlin hopethat the second part of the food deal, concerning the export of Russian products and fertilizers, will be implemented.

The “grain deal” in July 2022 was concluded by representatives of the Russian Federation, Turkey, Ukraine and the UN. The agreement implies the export of food and fertilizers from three Ukrainian Black Sea ports. On November 17, the deal was extended for another 120 days, until March 18. mass media wrotethat the “grain deal” has no special extension mechanisms. It will continue to operate after March 18, unless one of the participants opposes it.
