China intends to adhere to an objective position on the crisis in Ukraine, said during a briefing on Friday, March 17, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin. Thus, he commented on the future visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Russia.

“China will firmly adhere to an objective and fair position on the Ukrainian crisis and play a constructive role in advancing the peace talks,” the diplomat said. RIA News.

Wenbin also added that Russia-China relations are based on the principles of non-confrontation, non-alignment and non-targeting of third parties.

According to the diplomat, the development of the strategic Russian-Chinese partnership will benefit both the peoples of the two countries and the whole world. He noted that the words of some politicians that relations between China and the Russian Federation are a “challenge for the world order” are a manifestation of the “Cold War mentality.”

Xi Jinping will come to Russia with a state visit on March 20–22 at the invitation of the Russian side. During the talks, topical issues of further development of relations between Russia and China will be touched upon.
