On March 17, British and German Air Force fighters escorted Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft that approached the borders of Estonian airspace, the press service of the United Kingdom Air Force claims.
By message press service on March 18, two Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft escorted “Tu-134 of the Russian armed forces”, which followed along with the An-12 transport and two Su-27 fighters.
Germany and Great Britain jointly patrol the Estonian sky. This is the second time in a week that British and German pilots have taken to the skies because of Russian planes, clarifies TASS. On March 15, fighters from these countries escorted the Russian Il-78 and An-14 near the borders of Estonian airspace.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has repeatedly emphasized that the flights of Russian military aircraft to the Kaliningrad region and back are carried out over neutral waters in accordance with international rules for the use of airspace.
