Scholz once again stated that the conflict in Ukraine would be resolved only after the withdrawal of Russian forces from the territory of the country. “We expressed this position everywhere and at every opportunity,” the German Chancellor said at a press conference in Tokyo following talks with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Xi Jinping is going to hold an online meeting with Zelensky immediately after his visit to Moscow. The publication notes that meetings with the leaders of Ukraine and the Russian Federation “indicate Beijing’s intention to play a more active role in mediation to end the conflict.” Earlier it became known that the President of China will pay an official visit to Moscow. The Russian leader invited him at the end of 2022.
