Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law providing for the termination for Russians who have Ukrainian citizenship of this citizenship from the moment they submit an application for unwillingness to be a member of the Russian Interior Ministry. The authors of the bill are deputies Leonid Kalashnikov (KPRF), Sergey Leonov (LDPR), Sergey Kabyshev (SRZP) and Artem Turov (ER).
“The use of this mechanism in practice should ensure that such citizens of the Russian Federation exercise their rights to employment in state and municipal bodies, study in educational organizations that provide for the admission of applicants to state secrets, as well as the settlement of other issues in the solution of which citizenship of Ukraine acts as a limiting factor,” the statement says. in the conclusion of the international committee of the Federation Council, which leads RIA News.
The law provides that from the date of filing an application, a citizen of the Russian Federation is obliged not to take actions that are related to the realization of rights, as well as the performance of duties provided for citizens of Ukraine. If this obligation is not observed, a conclusion is issued according to which the application for termination of Ukrainian citizenship is considered invalid.
It will be possible to apply for unwillingness to be Ukrainian citizenship only after 10 years from the date of issuance of the said conclusion.
