Russian President Vladimir Putin made a working trip to Mariupol. He flew there by helicopter, then drove around the city by car.
About it informs RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the Kremlin on March 19. On the trip, the head of state was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin. The Russian leader inspected several facilities in the city. He spoke with local residents in the Nevsky microdistrict and visited one of the families. Putin also toured memorial sites and Mariupol’s coastline.
Khusnullin told the President about the progress of restoration work in the city. As specified in the press service of the Kremlin, it was about the construction of new residential districts, medical institutions, social and educational facilities.
As specified in the Kremlin, the head of Russia also held a meeting at the command post of the special military operation in Rostov-on-Don. There he heard the report of Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces.
