Twitter on March 31 will open the source code that is used to recommend publications. This was announced by the owner of the company Elon Musk.
“Twitter will release all source code used for recommending tweets on March 31,” the entrepreneur said on Friday, March 17, on his page on the social network.
Source code is text in a programming language. According to Musk, the recommendation algorithm is complex, so it will be changed as user comments appear. The businessman is confident that this decision will provide an opportunity to improve the quality of recommendations.
In October last year, Musk bought Twitter, which owns the social network of the same name. After that, Twitter began to transform. The changes affected both the management of the company and the policy of the social network itself. The company started layoffs. So, at the end of February alone, Twitter fired at least 200 people.
Musk also revealed in February that he intends to find a new CEO for Twitter by the end of 2023. According to the entrepreneur, this is necessary to “stabilize the organization.”
