Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov held a meeting with President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. The parties discussed the creation of a free trade zone (FTA) between the EAEU and Egypt, as well as the construction of the El-Dabaa nuclear power plant.
“We talked in detail on all aspects that are on the agenda,” Manturov said. According to him, we are talking about the development of humanitarian and industrial cooperative relations, issues of education.
The Russian minister pointed out that a large number of students from Egypt are now studying in Russia. About this on Sunday, March 19, writes TASS.
In addition, Manturov added that the topics for discussion were tourism, organizing air traffic and increasing the number of flights.
In November 2022, it became known that in Egypt, with the participation of Rosatom, started construction the second power unit of the El-Dabaa nuclear power plant. As the head of Rosatom noted, the launch of a nuclear power plant will play a crucial role in the socio-economic and technological life of Egypt.
Russia and Egypt signed an agreement on the construction of a nuclear power plant in 2015. The construction of the first power unit began in July. The construction of El Dabaa is scheduled to be completed in 2028.
