About 67% of graduates in 2023 will be able to count on free education at Russian universities, which is 3% more than last year. This was announced on Saturday, March 18, in the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science.

In total, the ministry distributed more than 590 thousand budget places for the 2023-2024 academic year, more than 73% of them received regional educational institutions, writes TASS. This, in turn, is more than 2 thousand more than in the last academic year, as well as 11.5 thousand more compared to the 2021-2022 academic year.

Earlier it was reported that for the 2023-2024 academic year in the country’s universities significantly increased the number of budget places in priority areas of scientific and technological development. The Ministry of Education and Science noted that they form the volume of budget places, taking into account the need for qualified personnel. In addition, proposals received from subjects of Russia are taken into account.
