Monaco’s Alexander Golovin, who plays as a midfielder, will miss Sunday’s match of the 28th round of the French Football Championship against Ajaccio. The athlete experiences muscle discomfort. This is stated in a statement by the press service of Monaco.
It published on Saturday, March 18, on the club’s website. It is specified that Golovin has discomfort in the right adductor muscle. Forward Kevin Volland continues his recovery phase while left-back Ismail Jacobs is experiencing hip discomfort, the report said.
At the end of February it became known that Golovin extended the contract with Monaco. The new agreement with the 26-year-old Russian footballer runs until 2026. The athlete himself said he was happy to stay at Monaco. According to him, the club is having a good season.
The Russian midfielder joined Monaco in the summer of 2018. Prior to that, he played for CSKA.
Monaco are currently in fourth place in the French league standings. The team after 27 meetings earned 51 points.
