TV channel “Russia 24” published a video of Vladimir Putin’s trip to Mariupol. The head of state was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin. The President traveled around the city in a car that he drove himself.
On the footage, Khusnullin tells Putin how the work to restore Mariupol is going. The Deputy Prime Minister notes that a plan has been drawn up for the development of urban facilities: a park and an embankment. There is an Orthodox church and a mosque near the sea, they are already working and services are being held there, Khusnullin added. Trams will be restored by summer. He also stressed that people are actively returning to the city, transmits RBC on Sunday, March 19.
The video also shows Putin’s communication with the residents of Mariupol. The president shakes hands with one of them, while the other notes that he has only seen the Russian leader on TV. Putin replies that we need to start getting to know each other better.
The Kremlin reported that the head of state arrived in Mariupol by helicopter. Then Putin got into the car to inspect the city. Putin later accepted participation in the meetingdedicated to the special operation. The event took place at the command post in Rostov-on-Don.
