Turkey is trying to quickly implement the gas hub project. This statement was made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He made this statement during a speech in Balıkesir province.

“We are rapidly moving towards making our country a center for the production, transportation and trade of natural gas,” Erdogan said. His words on Tuesday, March 19, leads TASS.

In October 2022, the President of the Russian Federation proposed the creation of a gas hub in Turkey for European countries. Thus, according to the head of state, the lost volume of transit through the Nord Streams could be moved to the Black Sea region.

In March, Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources said work on a Russian-proposed gas hub in Turkey continue. The main goal is to make the project functional by the end of 2023.
