CSKA Moscow defeated Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the second match of the second round of the playoffs of the Continental Hockey League (KHL). The meeting took place in Moscow on Sunday, March 19.
The score in the game is 3:2 (0:1, 2:1, 1:0). Maxim Mamin scored the first goal in the opponent’s goal in the 35th minute of the meeting. CSKA also scored Darren Dietz (36) and Mikhail Grigorenko (44). Lokomotiv scored Denis Alekseev (4) and Maxim Berezkin (33), writes RIA Novosti – Sport.
Moscow club forward Sergei Plotnikov played his 800th game in the KHL. The hockey player became the seventh player in league history to reach this mark. In the third period, Plotnikov left the field due to an injury.
The score in the series up to four wins was 2-0 in favor of CSKA. The first match of the second round of the KHL playoffs between the Moscow club and Lokomotiv took place on March 17. Meeting ended with a score 2:0 in favor of CSKA.
The next two games within the confrontation will be held on March 21 and 23 in Yaroslavl.
CSKA is the current holder of the Gagarin Cup. The team also won the trophy in 2019. The best achievement of Lokomotiv was reaching the final of the Gagarin Cup in 2009.
