CSKA Moscow defeated Severstal Cherepovets in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) playoff first round series match and advanced to the Gagarin Cup quarterfinals.

The game ended with the score 5:3 (1:2, 1:0, 3:1). The winners included Vladislav Kamenev, who scored two goals at once, as well as Sergey Plotnikov, Vladislav Provolnev and Maxim Sorkin. The losers scored goals from Alexander Petunin, David Dumbadze and Alexander Suvorov, transmits RIA Novosti 14 March.

The Moscow team won the series up to four victories with a score of 4:3. CSKA became the last quarter-finalist of the KHL playoffs. Thus, all pairs of the 1/4 finals of the Gagarin Cup of the 2022/23 season have become known.

CSKA will play against Yaroslavl Lokomotiv. “Ak Bars” from Kazan will meet with “Admiral” from Vladivostok, SKA (St. Petersburg) will play with “Torpedo” (Nizhny Novgorod), and “Avangard” (Omsk) will play with “Metallurg” (Magnitogorsk). The second round of the KHL playoffs will begin on March 16.
