The UK government has banned the use of the social network TikTok by officials on work devices. Information about it posted on the official portal of the government of the United Kingdom.
“Given the potentially sensitive nature of the information stored on government devices, government policy regarding the management of third-party applications will be strengthened. A ban on the use of TikTok on government devices will also be introduced,” the document says.
The restrictions will not affect the personal devices of UK officials.
It also became known that the Parliament of New Zealand banned to their deputies to use the TikTok application on office devices. The head of the parliamentary administration, Rafael Gonzalez-Montero, explained that the potential risks from using this application in the current environment are unacceptable.
The governments of the United States, Canada and Belgium have previously also restricted the use of the TikTok service on the work devices of government officials. At the same time, Washington considers this social network as a problem that threatens national security.
