Ben Affleck reveals why he didn’t work with his friend Matt Damon for a long time
Hollywood actor Ben Affleck gave a great interview to The Hollywood Reporter in which told about why he had not worked with his colleague and friend Matt Damon for so long.
According to him, during the filming of “The Last Duel”, they talked a lot and realized that they would like to work more together in recent years. Affleck noted that they fell victim to the idea that you need to build your careers separately, because otherwise people will always associate them with each other.
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have starred in several films, including Good Will Hunting and Dogma. In addition, they collaborated as producers and screenwriters. The actors did not work for a long time until they met on the set of Ridley Scott’s film “The Last Duel”. It came out in 2021.
Affleck also spoke about his nearly 40-year friendship with Damon. According to him, he trusts the star of The Martian. He called him an honest man. “In this business, failure is hard, and success is confusing and can make you lose your bearings.” Therefore, according to Affleck, having such a friendship with Damon for so many years is very significant for him.
Earlier, Affleck and Damon decided to start an independent production company called Artists Equity. The company’s first film will tell the story of how famous basketball player Michael Jordan landed a contract with an athletic shoe brand in the 1980s that changed business and popular culture. Affleck himself will direct the project.
