Avangard Omsk defeated Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the second match of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) playoff quarter-final series. The meeting took place on Sunday, March 19, in Omsk and ended with the score 4:3 (3:0, 0:2, 1:1).
As part of the “Vanguard” scored Pavel Dedunov. He designed the puck into the opponent’s goal in the sixth minute. Also, the Omsk club scored Alex Broadhurst (14) and Reed Boucher (19, 48). Metallurg scored Pavel Akolzin (23), Grigory Dronov (26) and Nikita Korostelev (45), writes RIA News.
The score in the series up to four wins was 2-0 in favor of Avangard. The first match of the second round of the KHL playoffs between the Omsk club and players from Magnitogorsk took place on March 17. Meeting ended in overtime the victory of Omsk with a score of 2:1.
The next meeting within the confrontation will be held on Tuesday, March 21, in Magnitogorsk.
According to the results of the KHL regular season, Avangard became the third in the East. The Omsk team scored 86 points after 68 games. Metallurg finished fifth in the Eastern Conference standings. The team has earned 83 points in 68 matches.
