An earthquake of magnitude 6.7 struck Ecuador on Saturday evening, March 18. The epicenter of the tremors was located 59 km from the city of Guayaquil, located in the west of the country. The source of the earthquake lay at a depth of 80 km.

Tremors were recorded at 17.12 UTC time (20.12 Moscow time). About it informs Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center on Saturday, March 18.

There are no reports of possible casualties or damage. There was no tsunami threat.

February 2019 in Ecuador there was a powerful earthquake magnitude 7.7. The epicenter of the tremors was located about 100 km from the city of Macas, near the border with Peru, at a depth of 137.56 km. Shortly thereafter, another earthquake of magnitude 5.5 was recorded on the coast of Ecuador and about 20 km from the city of Guayaquil, with an epicenter at a depth of 82 km.
